What Is a Dehumidifier?

Dehumidifiers come in portable units for single rooms and whole-home units that integrate with your HVAC ductwork. Whole-home dehumidifiers process large volumes of air and are controlled by a humidistat that monitors moisture levels. They're particularly useful in the spring and fall when it's cool enough that the AC doesn't run much but humidity is still high, or in tightly sealed homes where moisture from cooking, showers, and breathing builds up.
